BCC在拍摄经典纪录片“人类星球”的同时，也制作了一部儿童版的姊妹篇“瞬间认识世界 Little Human
Planet”，又译作“小小人类星球”。让孩子们在足不出户的情况下，放眼世界，了解全球各地小朋友的日常生活、各色的家园和不一样的愿望。节目通过对不同地区孩子的探访，了解他们民族的语言、食物、建筑和节庆。
瞬间认识世界 Little Human Planet 剧情在非洲的马里，Kayentan的爸爸妈妈正在用泥浆修缮他们的房屋，而只有4岁的Kayentan则负责去河床上收集泥巴。在太平洋西部的美丽雅蒲岛上，Putin则需要每天帮助姐姐和姑姑一起采摘山药。在神秘的蒙古，游牧民族家的小孩Shoree正在跟家人一起搭建蒙古包……
在了解不同地区孩子们的生活之后，这部纪录片还会带来小观众们熟悉世界各地的奇特动物、各式各样的房子、还有充满不同民族特色的游戏。
这部经典动画带领孩子们探索自己的世界，为他们今后的发展社交技能铺平了道路。
