We visited a farmer today.
今天我们拜访了一位农民。
He is not a regular farmer.
他不是一个通常的农民。
He's a beekeeper.
他是养蜂人。
His honey bees make honey.
他的蜜蜂能产蜜。
I love this sweet sticky treat!
我就喜欢这种粘乎乎的甜甜的蜜！
Honey bees are the only insects that make food for humans.
蜜蜂是唯一能为人类提供食物的昆虫。
How do they do it?
他们是怎么做到的呢？
They gather a sweet liquid from flowers and turn it into honey.
他们从花中采集到一种甜的液体，然后把它变成蜂蜜。
They live in a hive and travel many kilometres in search of flowers.
它们生活在一个蜂巢里，为了寻找花，它们要飞很远的里程。
Honey bees travel more than 80,000 kilometres and visit about 2 million flowers to make just half a kilogram of honey!
为了产半公斤的蜂蜜， 蜜蜂得飞行8万多公里，历遍约200万朵鲜花，！
Does the bee keeper get stung a lot?
养蜂人经常被叮吗？
Well, he wears special clothing for protection.
这，他穿着特殊的防护服呢。
He has a special hat with a net that covers his face.
他有一顶特殊的帽子，帽子上有一张网，遮住了他的脸。
He wears gloves and a shirt with long sleeves.
他戴着手套和一件长袖衬衫。
He uses a little machine that makes smoke.
他还用一台小机器产生烟。
He says this helps to keep the bees calm.
他说这有助于蜜蜂保持冷静。
It was amazing to see him work with thousands of bees flying around!
